I TOOK THE TIME TO MEET WITH BUSINESS OWNERS AND LISTEN TO THEIR CONCERNSI have been spending some time meeting with local business owners. During my meeting with Tim Koch, Sammamish Ace Hardware, we discussed the future of business in Sammamish. Tim could use about 15,000 sq feet plus room for a garden shop in a Sammamish Town Center. His concerns were costs for leasing, development and traffic issues. He agreed with my concerns over spending $45 million on East Lake Sammamish Parkway and not increasing capacity. With the additional businesses and homes we want to develop in the Sammamish Town Center, we need to ensure the infrastructure is in place to support the increased impact on our community.

It is hard to get a small business going in Sammamish. Sq footage costs are high and we need to drive traffic to Shop Sammamish. Scott Dixon who owns Sleep 101 started his Sammamish store to provide a quality choice for customers. He is concerned about costs and hopes the business is a success for himself and for the people of Sammamish.
We need more Restaurant opportunities in Sammamish
